Photography can be used as a way to open our eyes to different cultures and people. We can learn so much from the strangers who surround us everyday. In my interactive book "strangers among us all," viewers are able to see the different people the could meet in public spaces if the just take the time to ask. Though I'm unable to show this on the web, you're able to turn each section individually. Also, there is a lot of hate in our country and in this world, but the more people can begin to relate to those who are different from themselves, the more accepting they will be of each other. This idea is what I’m trying to accomplish in “Are We Really So Different,” a response to the passing of California’s Proposition 8, and “Better Days,” a version of a project I completed with the non-profit organization A New Path, which advocates drug rehabilitation programs over incarceration.
